Move For Hunger was created with the mission to strengthen our communities’ food banks. The organization works with relocation companies all over the country to help fill goof banks across the nation.  It began with just a single moving company, and today it has grown to include over 475 moving companies in 46 states.

The idea for Move For Hunger is that many families throw out the food left in their cabinets on moving day; food that could be used to feed hungry families.  Moving companies collect the unwanted nonperishable and deliver them to the local food bank.  Since its foundation, the organization has collected over 2 million pounds of food for food banks across the United States.

Spirit Movers is currently an “Epic” partner with Move For Hunger.  Together 70 Atlas Van Lines Agents, including Spirit Van Lines, have collected over 28,000 pounds of food for local food pantries.
